Assisted Living Administrator Certificate Programs

Two programs are available to meet your educational needs. Both the Introductory and Advanced programs are comprised of 5 individual courses centered around each of the specific Domains of Practice, giving you much more focus on each subject area, as well as greater flexibility and choice in developing your education plan.

The Introductory Assisted Living Administrator program meets the requirements of many states for Assisted Living (AL) education and is approved by NAB's National Continuing Education Review Service (NCERS) for 50 CEU credits. This program also serves as a resource in preparing for the NAB national assisted living administrator (RC/AL) exam and as a study resource for various state entry to AL Administrator programs. The Introductory program has been approved by the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA) as the basis for implementing the Assisted Living Educational Initiative "Promoting Leadership Excellence in Assisted Living".

The Advanced Assisted Living Administrator program builds on the information presented in the Introductory program to enhance the practicing AL Administrator knowledge base. It is also NAB (NCERS) approved for 50 CEU credits, and is recommended for experienced professionals preparing to take the ACHCA Assisted Living Professional Certification exam.

Both programs are eligible for college credit.
Saint Joseph's College of Maine Graduate and Professional Studies offers three college credits for each of the certificates (Introductory & Advanced) toward an online degree or eighteen credit certificate programs in Long Term Care Administration.
